// GROWTH · THE SYSTEM BEHIND THE MARKETING

AI makes output cheap. Judgement makes it valuable.

A Marketing Engineer builds the system that sits behind the marketing. Listen to what buyers actually say. Build the page, the message or the follow-up. Ship it with a person still on the send button. Learn from what happened, and write it down, because chats forget and the record doesn't.

// SIX PARTS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

1. Customer truth

One note of what buyers say, in their own words, with the link and the date. If the source can't be opened again, the line doesn't stay.

2. Content

One real insight turned into a few pieces: a post, a short video script, a section of a page, a warm email. Nothing gets written until the insight has a source.

3. Warm follow-up

Watch for a real reason to get back to someone who already knows you, and prepare the message for a person to send. Messages sent is activity. A qualified reply is the signal.

4. Creative tests

Try many angles, keep what gets real replies, drop the rest, and remember what won.

5. Pages AI assistants cite

When buyers ask ChatGPT or Perplexity a specific question, the useful company has a clear page with the answer and the source.

6. A weekly page

What can be measured, what got louder, what to do next. "Nothing won" is a valid week.

// EVERY DRAFT PASSES SIX CHECKS
// HOW I'D BUILD ONE
  1. Ask how the work really runs. What eats the week, how long it takes now, and what I'm allowed to see.
  2. Write the baseline. The one number we'll judge it by.
  3. Ship one machine, not a platform. One agent or automation for the job that eats the most time.
  4. Measure and write it up. Including if the number didn't move.

I'm running this on my own company first. Case studies go on the case studies page as they're measured.
